Arunachal Pradesh – In a bid to enhance the global competitiveness of its youth, the Arunachal Pradesh Government has rolled out a specialised two-month skill development programme focused on printing and binding technologies. The initiative targets unemployed local youth, aiming to equip them with practical, industry-relevant skills that can pave the way for both employment and entrepreneurship.
The programme is a collaborative effort between the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Department of Printing and Stationery. A total of 35 participants have been enrolled to receive hands-on training in offset machine operations and binding techniques. To facilitate the sessions, 13 resource persons have been appointed to guide trainees through both technical domains.
The launch event was marked by the presence of several senior officials, including Nyali Ete (IAS), Secretary of the Department of Information and Public Relations; Bullo Mamu (IRS), Secretary of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Sibe Passing, Joint Secretary-cum-Director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Gijum Tali, Director of IPR; and Heri Maring, Deputy Director of the Department of Printing and Stationery.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary Bullo Mamu highlighted the transformative potential of the programme. “This is a pioneering initiative in Arunachal Pradesh. It will provide participants with real-world exposure to printing technologies, empowering them to either join the workforce or start their own ventures,” he said.
Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity, noting that the training has instilled a renewed sense of purpose and optimism. Many said they now feel better prepared to pursue sustainable livelihoods through the skills they are acquiring.
The programme reflects the state’s broader commitment to fostering skill-based development and creating pathways for youth to thrive in competitive industries.
