Assam Governor Underscores Diplomacy’s Importance in Meeting with IFS Trainees

Assam –  Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Monday interacted with six Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer trainees of the 2025 batch at Lok Bhavan, highlighting the pivotal role of diplomacy in advancing India’s global interests.

During the discussion, Acharya stressed that the IFS is central to strengthening India’s international outreach and partnerships. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of proactive, people-centric diplomacy, noting that Indian diplomats today are instrumental in enhancing the country’s stature on the world stage.

The Governor described IFS officers as custodians of India’s values and culture, entrusted with safeguarding national interests with professionalism and sensitivity. He urged the trainees to uphold constitutional principles while promoting peace, cooperation, and mutual understanding among nations.

Congratulating the young officers on joining one of India’s most prestigious services, Acharya expressed confidence that they would serve with dedication and contribute meaningfully to strengthening India’s global standing.
