Tripura – Authorities in Tripura have stepped up security and administrative measures ahead of Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan’s two-day visit to the state on March 7 and 8.
District Magistrate of West Tripura, Dr. Vishal Kumar, confirmed that the Vice President will attend several official programmes during his stay. On March 7, he is scheduled to visit the Tripura Sundari Temple at Matabari in Gomati district and later join a public event at Albert Park in Agartala.
The following day, March 8, Radhakrishnan will preside over the 14th convocation of Tripura University. He is also expected to interact with beneficiaries at the “Lakhpati Didis” programme at the Hapania International Fairground, where exhibition stalls will be showcased.
In preparation, district-level officials convened a meeting at the West Tripura DM’s office to review arrangements. Civic bodies have been directed to maintain cleanliness and ensure smooth traffic flow in Agartala. Security forces, including paramilitary units, will be deployed at key locations, with enhanced surveillance along routes the Vice President will travel by road from the airport to various venues.
Officials have urged public cooperation to ensure the programmes are conducted safely and without disruption.
