Nagaland Highlights Indigenous Artistry and Culture at Bharat Utsav 2025 in Moscow

Nagaland recently showcased its rich cultural heritage and indigenous craftsmanship at Bharat Utsav 2025, held at the iconic Manezhnaya Square in Moscow, Russia, from July 5 to 13. The event celebrated India’s cultural diversity and entrepreneurial spirit on a global platform.

A 40-member cultural troupe from Nagaland, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, captivated international audiences with traditional dances, folk music, and fusion performances. The Nagaland Pavilion featured a vibrant array of handmade crafts, including handloom textiles, silk shawls, cushion covers, bamboo mugs, wooden plates, and organic products like Nagaland coffee and honey.

The event provided local entrepreneurs with unprecedented global exposure, allowing them to explore new markets and understand international consumer trends. The Department of Industries and Commerce, which coordinated Nagaland’s participation, aims to leverage this momentum to foster global partnerships and support export-oriented growth.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said, “Nagaland is a treasure trove of heritage and diversity—a land of breathtaking beauty and profound cultural richness. I invite the people of Russia to visit our state and experience its indigenous traditions, arts, crafts, and textiles.”

This vibrant participation at Bharat Utsav 2025 not only offered a platform to celebrate Nagaland’s traditions, but also served as a powerful reminder of how cultural diplomacy can foster international goodwill. As Nagaland continues to embrace global opportunities, its fusion of heritage and innovation positions the state as a rising force in both cultural and entrepreneurial spheres—proving that artistry rooted in identity can resonate across borders.
