Arunachal Pradesh – Authorities in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley have urged caution for travelers heading to Mayodia following heavy snowfall and an expected surge in tourist traffic.
Superintendent of Police Manish Shaurya, IPS, released a public advisory stressing that only drivers experienced in navigating hilly and snow‑covered terrain should attempt the route. Inexperienced motorists have been asked to avoid the stretch to reduce the risk of accidents and traffic disruptions.
The advisory directed vehicle owners to ensure their cars are roadworthy, equipped with sufficient fuel, reliable brakes, strong tyre grip, and essential safety gear before setting out. Tourists have been strictly warned against parking along the roadside to enjoy snowfall, as such stoppages could block traffic and hinder emergency services.
Motorists have been instructed to follow traffic rules, maintain safe distances, avoid speeding, and refrain from rash driving. The police also cautioned against creating congestion at narrow stretches and urged the public to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in the area.
For emergencies, citizens have been asked to contact the Officer‑in‑Charge of Roing Police Station at 8414955820. The district police emphasized that the advisory was issued in the interest of public safety and appealed for public cooperation to ensure smooth movement during the snowfall period.
