Itanagar – Team East Kameng clinched the championship title at the 2nd State Level Basketball Tournament 2025, overcoming Kamle district in a thrilling final match that brought together some of the most promising young basketball talent from across Arunachal Pradesh.
The grand finale, held with much fanfare, was attended by Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) President Er. Taba Tedir, who served as the Chief Guest. Commending the players for their spirited performances, Tedir described the contest as “truly inspiring,” and praised the athletes for their discipline, passion, and competitive zeal — qualities he said reflect the growing momentum of sports culture in the state.
He congratulated Team East Kameng for their well-earned victory and acknowledged Team Kamle for their commendable effort as runners-up. “It was a heartwarming final, filled with determination and exemplary sportsmanship from both sides,” he remarked.
Tedir also extended his gratitude to Teli Kahi, Sports Officer at the Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA), who attended the event as Guest of Honour and encouraged the players throughout the tournament.
The AOA President further lauded the Arunachal Pradesh Basketball Association (APBA) for its meticulous planning and execution of the tournament. He credited the organising team for creating a memorable experience for athletes, officials, and spectators alike.
Calling for sustained support for grassroots sports initiatives, Tedir emphasized that such tournaments are vital for nurturing young talent and strengthening the spirit of sportsmanship across Arunachal Pradesh.
