Arunachal Pradesh – Authorities in Arunachal Pradesh have urged residents of the Doimukh Forest Range to exercise caution following reports of tiger and wild elephant activity in the area. The advisory, released by the Range Forest Officer’s office, comes amid sightings and social media posts suggesting the presence of these animals in parts of the district and adjoining regions.
The notice calls on locals to remain alert and strictly follow safety guidelines. Residents have been asked to avoid unnecessary trips into forested zones, particularly during early morning and night hours, and to refrain from activities such as cattle grazing or fishing during vulnerable periods.
Officials have also warned against chasing, provoking, or attempting to photograph wild animals. In the event of a sighting, people are advised to stay calm, keep silent, and move away without causing disturbance. Families are encouraged to take extra care of children, elderly members, and livestock, ensuring they remain indoors and under supervision. Adequate lighting around homes and cattle sheds at night has been recommended as a precaution.
The advisory further instructs villagers to immediately inform forest staff or the nearest police station if they notice unusual sounds, pugmarks, or suspicious movement of tigers, big cats, or elephants.
According to the forest department, the guidelines have been issued in the interest of public safety, stressing that ignoring them could endanger lives and property.
