Assam Forest Department Orders Statewide Transfers in Major Reshuffle

Guwahati — The Assam Forest Department has initiated a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring 14 officials across various divisions in the state. The move, aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing field-level efficiency, was formalized through Office Order No. 414 dated August 24, 2025.

The order, issued by Sandeep Kumar, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, comes into immediate effect and includes the relocation of Deputy Rangers, Foresters, and other departmental staff. Officials have been reassigned to divisions such as Kamrup West, Nagaon Wildlife, Biswanath Wildlife, Eastern Assam Wildlife, Mangaldoi Wildlife, Western Assam Wildlife, Guwahati Social Forestry, and the Assam State Zoo.

Among those transferred are Deputy Ranger Chabin Ch. Das, who moves from Kamrup West Division to Nagaon Wildlife Division, and Nakul Baruah, also a Deputy Ranger, who has been posted to Kamrup West Division from the Forest Resources and Survey Division in Guwahati. Satish Mali, another Deputy Ranger, has been shifted from Kamrup West to Biswanath Wildlife Division.

Senior Assistant Dipjyoti Das has been posted to the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division in Bokakhat, while Draftsman Junu Das will now serve at the Working Plan Office under the Lower Assam Circle in Guwahati. Forester-I Nurul Hassan Saikia has also been transferred to Eastern Assam Wildlife Division, Bokakhat.

Forester-II Mono Mohan Rava has been posted to Mangaldoi Wildlife Division, and Rabin Kalita, serving as I.B. Chowkider, has been moved to the Assam State Zoo Division in Guwahati.

The order directs all concerned Divisional Forest Officers to relieve the transferred personnel without delay, ensuring that they assume their new responsibilities promptly. The reshuffle reflects the department’s ongoing efforts to optimize resource deployment and strengthen forest management across Assam’s diverse ecological zones.
