Arunachal Minister Unveils Child Rights Pamphlets to Strengthen Awareness

Arunachal Pradesh – Arunachal Pradesh has taken a fresh step toward safeguarding children’s rights with the release of awareness pamphlets designed to educate communities on key protection laws.

Women and Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul launched the pamphlets at the state civil secretariat in Itanagar. The event was attended by Ratan Anya, chairperson of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR), along with commission members and the member secretary.

Prepared by the APSCPCR, the materials are aimed at children, parents, teachers, and the wider public. They provide simplified explanations of important legislations, including the Right to Education Act, 2009; the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012; the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 (amended in 2016); and laws prohibiting child marriage.

Pul underscored the importance of the campaign in spreading awareness at the community level. She affirmed that safeguarding children’s dignity, safety, and well‑being is a shared duty, urging collective efforts to guarantee every child access to education and a secure environment.

Officials noted that the pamphlets are part of a broader effort to engage citizens in child protection, reinforcing the government’s commitment to creating safer spaces for young people across the state.
