Shillong, Meghalaya: The sixth edition of the Shillong Literary Festival will be held from November 12 to 14 at Ward’s Lake in Shillong, featuring literary discussions, storytelling sessions, cultural programmes and performances.
A key highlight of this year’s festival will be “First Bloom: Discovering New Writing from the Northeast”, an initiative aimed at encouraging emerging writers of fiction and narrative non-fiction from the region.
The programme will offer prize money of ₹75,000, including ₹50,000 for the winner and ₹25,000 for the runner-up.
Supported by the Meghalaya Tourism Department, the festival will showcase the storytelling traditions of the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo communities while also featuring contemporary Indian and international literature.
The event will bring together writers, artists, thinkers and readers for three days of literary and cultural activities.
