Manipur’s Nimai Singh Earns Prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi Recognition

Manipur, Imphal: Bringing national recognition to Manipur’s vibrant artistic community, noted sculptor Sarungbam Nimai Singh of Yumnam Leikai has been selected for the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi Award at the 65th National Exhibition of Art.

Singh secured the honour for his teak wood sculpture titled Mudra-1, which impressed the jury at one of the country’s most prominent visual arts exhibitions. His selection stands out in a highly competitive field, with the awardees chosen from thousands of entries received from artists across India.

The achievement has been widely hailed as a significant milestone for Manipur’s art fraternity, reflecting the state’s longstanding tradition of creativity and artistic excellence.
